The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is our final authority for all matters of life and practice. We believe in the plenary verbal inspiration of the Bible. The Bible is God’s written revelation of Himself to man, and is without error. We believe the 1611 King James Bible is God’s preserved Word for english-speaking people, and that the Masoretic text and Textus Receptus should be the source for all translations into other languages.
God is a Spirit who is eternal, holy, righteous, just, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and sovereign. God created everything in existence, from nothing, in a literal six-day period, and his creation declares his glory and wisdom. God is manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is Son of God and is the Word of God incarnate (made flesh). Jesus was born of a virgin and was God in the flesh. He lived a sinless life, yet laid down his life as a willing sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He was crucified, died on the cross, was buried, and resurrected bodily three days later. He is now in Heaven at the right hand of God, interceding for the saints who have believed on Him.
All people are sinners, both by nature and by choice. Therefore, God (being just and holy) must sentence us to eternal separation from Him (in Hell) at the final judgment. But God so loved mankind that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die and bear the punishment for sin in our place. All those who call on God and put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation are eternally saved and forgiven their sins, being clothed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ by faith in Him, and will live forever with God. There is no other path to forgiveness, salvation, or Heaven, other than through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
When a sinner trusts Jesus Christ as their Savior, they are from that moment indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God, who will guide and direct their life as the believer allows Him to. A Christian should grow in grace and in the knowledge of God, being conformed to the image of Christ, and endeavoring to make his life a testimony for Christ. In order to grow as a Christian, each believer should:
- Read, study, memorize, and meditate on the Bible
- Pray regularly
- Attend church and fellowship with other believers
- Be baptized as a public testimony of their salvation
- Witness to others about Christ
- Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in their life
